2013 Peru Prolotherapy Workshop
The treatment of chronic pain is a complex and multifaceted problem. The faculty of this conference offer the participants detailed instruction in the use of prolotherapy and orthopaedic medicine to treat the laxity of ligaments that often cause chronic myofacial pain. Due to an aging population, more active lifestyles and patient desire for the relief of chronic pain, orthopaedic medicine techniques including prolotherapy provide effective and safe treatments.
The AAOM Prolotherapy Workshop will provide practical exposure to prolotherapy for the physician under the guidance of experienced teachers allowing them to gain experience which can be used in their own practices at home. The course will include daily lectures, instruction in patient evaluation and diagnosis, solutions, needle placement, injection technique and patient treatment. The course also provides medical care to patients at no cost allowing many to receive treatment for chronic pain conditions that might otherwise go untreated.
This workshop was designed for those using Orthopaedic Medicine to treat performance related pain and injury, overuse syndromes and chronic pain conditions. Target audience includes Sports Medicine Physicians, PM&R specialists (Physiatrists), Family Medicine Physicians, Orthopedic Surgeons, Neurologists and Interventional Pain Physicians, including Anesthesiologists and Osteopathic Pain Physicians.
